Weather conditions across the region feature mild temperatures with coastal high temperatures near 63°F and nighttime lows around 53°F under mostly cloudy skies and morning fog. Winds near North Spit, Humboldt Bay, and the Eel River marine zones are blowing light out of the north-northwest at 5 to 10 knots.
Ocean conditions according to NOAA data indicate average wave sizes holding between 3 to 4 feet. Primary swell data recorded at nearby offshore Buoy 46022 off the Eel River shows a primary swell coming from the west-northwest at 3 feet with a dominant period of 10 seconds. There is also a minor secondary southerly background swell measuring 1.5 feet at 14 seconds.
Tide predictions for Humboldt Bay at North Spit show a low tide at 3:08 PM measuring 3.7 feet, followed by an evening high tide at 8:05 PM reaching 4.8 feet.
