Southern Oregon Weather & Marine Report
Monday, July 13, 2026 | 12:56 PM PDT
Today across the southern Oregon coastal waters, a Small Craft Advisory remains in effect through this evening as a strong northerly breeze continues to drive steep seas, particularly south of Cape Blanco. Average wave sizes across the nearshore waters are hovering between 6 to 7 feet, creating challenging conditions for smaller vessels before winds begin to ease slightly late tonight. Onshore conditions at local beach communities like Brookings and Gold Beach feature mostly clear skies with comfortable high temperatures reaching around 66°F.
Nearby buoys indicate a complex sea state shaped by multiple wave groups passing through the region. The primary northwest swell is running at 5 feet with an 8-second period, accompanied by a shorter-period northwest wind wave of 4 feet at 5 seconds. Additionally, a faint southern hemisphere groundswell is registering from the southwest at 2 feet with a long 14-second period.
Tidal cycles along the southern Oregon coast reveal a high tide peaking at approximately 5.3 feet near 11:45 AM this morning. This will be followed by a gradual recession down to a low tide of roughly 0.8 feet later this evening at 6:15 PM.
